Make Up For Ever...The Exclusive!

The smoky eye and nude lip has been part of the dramatic beauty crazy since the beginning of time! We requested the help of ever fabulous beauty power house Make Up For Ever to show us how to create the look. Here, Makeup Artist Kareth takes us through the look step by step!

Tip:Do your eyes first so that you can easily clean the excess shadow dropping under the eye, which will ruin your foundation.

1. Use Concealer as a base for longer eye shadow and easier blending. (Camoflauge Cream #4)

2. Using a black eye liner, line your eye from the inside out, making the line thicker toward the outside of the eye.
(
Aqua Eyes #0L)

3. Using a small headed brush, blend outward, exaggerating the line. The eyeliners dry quickly.

4. Use a warm apricot eyeshadow to blend and soften the line. This color will also be used as a brow highlight.
(Eyeshadow #5)

5. Use a gold on the inner lid, packing it on. (Packing is softly pushing the color into your skin, instead of using a sweeping motion.) Begin mid-eye because the heaviest amount is inserted here. (Star Powder #920)

6. Blend like you have never blended before. Keep Going!

7. Use a crease blending brush and add a brown copper or a greenish gold. (Eyeshadow #17)

EYES

8. Use the primer to prepare the skin and clean under eye area. (#4 is great for darker complexions, #6 for medium) The primer holds in moisture, makes foundation last longer, and gives the dewy look that we crave!

9. Face and Body Foundation is used on our model. This foundation contains 80% water, as well as silicon. This gives impeccable skin-resembling power. On the model, Kareth Whitchurch used number 18 and 26.

10. She used a lighter whitish gold to highlight the face. Highlight areas that you want to stand out, along the cheek bones is where she applied it. Had it been matte, she may have gone down the nose, under eye, etc.

11. She then used a full coverage concealer on blemishes. She also used the lightest concealer to highlight the face.

12. Next, apply loose powder all over. It's triple jet milled, so it feels like nothing on the skin and never looks powdery! (Super Matte Loose Powder #56)

13. Reline your eyes with start powder. Add more eye liner, mascara, etc.

14. Fill in your brows! Use the gel brow color, place it on your hand to warm it up, and blend outward. (Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector #3)

15. Use a soft brown blush to shape the face. Also, apply a warm toned shimmer powder. (Sculpting Blush #24)

16. Use a lipliner that matches the inside of your bottom lip, and fill in the lip. Finish with gloss! (Aqualip 1C with Fascinating Lip Gloss #10)

The final result is a flawless smoky eye, which will look great on anyone. The picture to the right portrays a look of confidence, happiness and overall peace. I LOVE that. Our model wasn't a big makeup wearer, but she took this look and ROCKED it. I just can't get enough of it! I'll be posting all of the pictures from the photoshoot when I get my computer to work! All of these products are available at Sephora!

Many, many thanks to Kareth and Gina at the boutique, Kristen for modeling her effortless beauty and many thanks to Jade Anderson for capturing the beauty and sophistication of the boutique through her fabulous photography!
